Minoya-cho Machiya

美濃屋町 町家

Enjoy Panoramic views of the Kamo river and the Higashiyama mountains from the comfort of your own spacious deck.

The long time home of the local physician, and largest riverfront machiya. Built by the leading local craftsmen of the time, this beautiful machiya boasts large open spaces, elegant detail, and expansive views from the first and second floors.

The Minoya-cho machiya has roughly twice the width of river frontage than another riverfront property,Izumiya-cho. Large sliding glass doors run the complete width of both the 1st and 2nd floors, providing full benefit of this remarkable view. With ample space, a hinoki cypress bath overlooking the Kamo River on the 1st floor and a spacious shower room on the 2nd floor, this machiya is excellent for groups or families that require a larger home.
